At House of J, we’ve always believed that boxing is just the beginning. Anyone can run a gym. Anyone can teach punches and footwork. But we’re building something deeper; a community rooted in discipline, wellness, culture, and purpose. A movement of people who don’t just train hard...we live with intention.
That’s why supporting the Harrison Museum of African American Culture matters to us. Culture shapes identity. History builds pride. And community is the foundation for everything we do. So when the opportunity came to help prepare the Museum’s new Melrose Plaza space, we didn’t hesitate. Because this isn’t just their project; it’s our community’s story, and we want to be part of building what comes next.
Our team showed up because this is what House of J represents:Not just fighters—but builders, helpers, leaders, and protectors. People who understand that greatness isn’t measured only in the ring, but also in the moments we choose to lift others up.
Every hour we spent prepping that space wasn’t just volunteer work. It was a declaration: We are here. We care. And we’re committed to making Roanoke stronger.

Each stroke of effort, each moment spent cleaning, supporting, and preparing; felt like laying down a brick in the foundation of something bigger than ourselves. One bricklayer at a time, we move our community forward.
As the Harrison Museum prepares to reopen this November, we’re honored to stand alongside them. To witness history being rebuilt. To help amplify the stories that shaped our city and continue shaping every young fighter who walks through our doors.
We’re a movement of discipline, of culture, of unity, of purpose.
And this is only the beginning.
Check out our endorsement from EB Smith, Director of the Harrison Museum.
